Katie’s father wanted her to be a Doctor, because she was excellent in her studies. But, the fortune had something else for her. In addition to her acting roles in drama, Katie joined modeling class at the age of fourteen.

Katie Holmes gave her very first audition and won a part in 1997’s highly praised Ice Storm. Then her audition tape sent to Dawson’s Creek in which she portrayed ‘Joey Potter’ at the age of 20(from 1998-2002), which became top hit program on WB television.

Katie’s first leading role came in 2002 in the movie Abandon where she played Katie Burke.
